Makerspace

Last week on Friday our class did makerspace. We all made our own groups we were only allowed 5 or 6 people in each group. We did cooking!!! It was like My Kitchen Rules but we planted our own plants in the Te Maunga garden.  We planted them on Matariki on June the 25th to October the 25th. We took them out of the garden and put the vegetables in a yellow box. My group made a salad but not any salad it was my friend Briss’s secret salad she taught us. In the yellow box  there was silverbeet, carrots, parsley and celery. We had to get one or more things from the yellow box. We asked our parents at home if they could buy the stuff for makerspace. We used in the salad cucumbers, almonds, strawberries, carrots, grapes, lettuce, tomatoes and ham. All the groups had to say something about their creation that they made. And all of the groups helped and that is teamwork. This is how a plant grows. 1. Find a good place that has water light warmth . It's good for plants. 2. They absorb minerals and water through their roots and turn them into something sticky which is called zap,it is the plants blood. it's moves water and minerals around the plant where they are needed. 3.They  absorb energy from the sun and use it to turn the water from the soil into carbon dioxide.
4. (Co2) from the air into different kinds of sugars. plants need these sugars to grow branches, leaves, flowers and fruit and oxygen.
5. Sugar goes up their roots into the leaves and then they grow to a tree flowers or they create fruit.
6.Different fruits and vegetables grow in different spaces and times of the day.

7.Plants can overcooked just like us, when the temperature gets too hot in the living room the plants get to hydrated, there are also vents on the top of the living room when they open the hot air leaks out. the living room is cool and the plants can provide more food.
